Gustavo Sanchez (Gus) was born and raised in the largest
city in the world, Mexico City. He was always interested in
the richness and diversity of Mexican cuisine. Through the
years, Gus owned and operated two restaurants, one a fast-food
restaurant in Mexico City and a larger, family restaurant
in Salamanca, Guanajuato.
Gus and his wife Elaine (formerly Davis) met and were married
in Mexico. They have two sons, Bill and Chris, who were raised
in Mexico and then came to the US to pursue their studies
and their careers.
About four years ago, at the urging of their sons who had
settled in the US, Gus and Elaine decided to sell everything
and to move to the states to be closer to their children.
They moved first to the Baltimore area, where Gus was a manager
for Outback in Annapolis, MD, the busiest Outback in the country!
A year and a half ago, Gus accepted an offer to be co-owner/operator
of a Beef O’Brady’s in Vero Beach, once again
to be closer to children and grand-children.
Gus noticed the demand for Mexican food and in many cases,
the lack of real, authentic Mexican home cooking. With SALSAS!,
the Sanchez Family hopes to share traditional recipes in a
atmosphere as similar to Mexico, and home, as possible.
